15 years and counting…

Some weeks ago, we took a walk in the woods near Baarn. At a certain point, Mako got hungry, so we found a tree where Mahsa could sit down, rest her back, and take a moment to feed him.

The sun shimmered through the trees, the leaves fell like gentle rain, and we could hear every step we took. It was warm enough to walk without our jackets. Indi was playing somewhere nearby, entirely in her own world.

This video makes me realise the path we have walked.

First, the two of us.

Now the four of us.

It is impossible to summarise in a few words what one person can mean to you.

What I do know is this.

I am not the same person I was 15 years ago. And neither is she.

We have grown.

We have tried to get closer to ourselves.

We support each other.

We challenge each other.

We have made up.

We have broken up.

We have found our way back.

And now, we are building a family, a life and a home together, in a way that feels truest to ourselves and in service of the life we wish for our kids.

She is an incredible mother.

Watching her with our children shows me the essence of motherhood and reminds me of the power of the feminine: both what women bring and the burden they bear. She has presence, strength, intelligence, softness and clarity.

Our relationship has evolved alongside that.

And in this day and age, we keep reminding ourselves how much mindset matters.

How the way we look at life shapes the life we are creating: For ourselves and especially for our children.

I thank this woman from the deepest part of my soul for continually reminding me to stay true to who I am, to what matters, to the essence of life, the actual signal, beneath all the noise.

I often feel she is a few steps ahead of me.

And I am learning to be okay with catching up.

Fifteen years feels like a lifetime in itself.

And what a journey it has been ✨❤️
